Foolproof Color for Quilters:
Color, Color Theory and Color Relationships or How to Use a Color Wheel

Class size limited to 30 students

Event Description: This one day class will literally fill your day with color. These fun exercises will make you fit for any color task.  Learning to use the color wheel in a practical way will free up your use of color rather than restrict it.  Katie’s unique overlays will guarantee dynamic color selection and her fun workbook will make using and understanding color combinations a snap.

fowler katieKatie Fowler is a maker.  She calls herself an art quilter but that’s just because she can’t make a square quilt or follow a pattern.

Katie knows creativity.  As a lifelong maker she knows the ins and outs and ups and downs of the creative process.  She believes that creativity is about connection:  to self, to others, and to a higher creativity.  She is a certified Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coach and has put her experience and education together in a book:  An Artist’s Journey through Wonderland.  Katie knows the questions to ask so you find your unique answers.

Katie knows color.  As a creator of The Foolproof Color Wheel Set and the companion workbook Foolproof Color Workbook she can lead you through fun exercise to leave you feeling fit for any color conundrum.

Katie teaches and creates with her whole heart.  Being with other “makers” is one of the best parts of her life.  She and her husband live in their recently empty nest in the foothills west of Denver.  She enjoys almost all of the outside activities Colorado has to offer when she’s not making, talking about, or writing about art.

Katie is offering the Black Canyon Quilt Show, Inc. on-line Zoom classes.  We recommend you complete the following steps prior to registering for a class to ensure you are ready and able to participate.

Using a Windows or Apple computer complete with speakers, a microphone and webcam:

  1. Install Zoom.  Visit for specific hardware requirements and installation instructions.
  2. Run a speed test on your computer.  Visit  Zoom generally requires a minimum bandwidth of 1.5 Mbps/1.5 Mbps (uploading/downloading).

 When you are Zoom Ready...

  1.  Register and pay with BCQS using the appropriate Education Event links  above.
  2. After payment is received, you will receive an email link to advance register with the Teacher, Katie Fowler.
  3. After you have completed this advance registration, you will receive the link for the Zoom Class for class day. Keep this is your entry into the Zoom Class.
  4. Katie will welcome students to the Zoom ‘classroom’ on the date of class beginning at 8:00am.  She will ‘name’ you as your enter the classroom in order to enhance your personal connection.
