The Black Canyon Quilt Show board of directors is comprised of volunteers from three local quilt guilds in the Montrose, Colorado area. The annual event was started by a small group of women from Friendship Quilters of Western Colorado 1996 and has grown to a annual event with Friendship Quilters of Western Colorado, Columbine Quilters and San Juan Quilters working very hard for the event.

Quilters in the Montrose area come from all walks of life with the common goal of promoting the art of quilting.
